5 Tips for Disinfecting Your House

5 Tips for Disinfecting Your House

During these uncertain times, it’s even more important to keep disinfecting your surroundings.

During the spring cleaning season, you are probably focused on cleaning out your closet and getting rid of clutter. However, it’s still important to disinfect the surfaces around you. During these uncertain times, it’s even more important to keep disinfecting your surroundings. Here are some tips on how to do it.

Use Vinegar

Vinegar is amazingly useful. Not only can you use it for cooking and adding flavor to your food, but you can also use it to disinfect your home. The acetic acid is the key. It kills microbes that are invisible to the naked eye but are there anyway. You can also use it to kill mold. Also, you can use it to clean both glass and metal like stainless steel, too. It won’t leave behind weird streaks or film after you wipe it off. Mold can build up in toilets and sinks and they can be hard to get rid of them. Plus it’s fantastic for washing off produce when you don’t need to use it for anything else at the moment. White distilled vinegar is all you need for this step.

Use Hydrogen Peroxide

Another idea is to use hydrogen peroxide. It can remove stains on clothes and carpets especially in combination with vinegar. It also doesn’t have to be watered down or diluted for it to be safer to use.

Use Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil comes from Australia, from the leaves of the Melaleuca tree. It is amazing because it has antimicrobial, antifungal, and antiseptic, so it is a fantastic disinfectant, which in this day and age is a wonderful thing.

Use Baking Soda

Believe it or not, baking soda is an excellent disinfectant. However, to unlock this effect you need to combine it with vinegar. You can also combine it with water to make a gritty paste that makes a great scouring agent. Using lemon juice, you can also polish metals like brass and copper.

Use Soap and Water

It should seem obvious, but basic soap and water is underrated. It’s eco-friendly, and it’s so simple. The soap can be a great medium for mixing oil and water in just the right way to trap dirt and other grime.
